Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear?
As our guest, we want you to feel comfortable. We have no "dress code." While some members and guests wear their "Sunday best," many others wear very casual and comfortable clothing. Wednesday nights are always casual. Don't be concerned about what you wear, just come expecting to experience the power of God to change your life.
Why is the Church so big?
First Baptist Church is large enough to offer a wide variety of ministry, missions, fellowship and personal enrichment opportunities, yet small enough to maintain a sense of family. We believe that we have a spiritual obligation to nourish and encourage every one that God sends our way, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
When are the worship services?
On Sunday mornings we have two worship services: The Celebration Service at 8:45 AM and The Gathering at 11:11 AM. Life Groups (Sunday School) meet between services at 10:00 AM. Our Sunday evening worship service begins at 6:00 PM. Wednesday night fellowship supper begins at 4:30 PM, followed by a time of prayer and Bible study at 6:00. During the school year, we also offer a wide variety of Bible studies and Christian Growth Classes on Sundays and Wednesdays.
What are the worship services like?
At First Baptist, we believe that the awesome power of the living God is able to change people's lives. In each worship service, we try to uplift the name of God by praising Him in song, prayer and Biblical instruction.
On Sunday mornings we have two worship services, the Sunday Celebration Service and The Gathering.
8:45 AM - The Sunday Celebration Service welcomes you to join a warm group of people to worship God through a variety of choruses, hymns and favorite songs of faith. Music is led by our Worship Pastor, Tom Noland, along with FBC's Celebration Choir & Orchestra. Pastor Rick will challenge you each week by preaching Biblical Truth.
11:11 AM - The Gathering is a worship opportunity allowing you to encounter God in a relaxed and intimate environment. Our worship band, led by Worship & Music Associate, Cory Epps, will invite you to engage with others in a rich experience of open worship and community. Pastor Rick will challenge you as he preaches Biblical Truth.
What about my children?
Preschoolers and children (ages birth through 5th grade) meet on the first and second floors of our Preschool-Children-Youth Building. Students in 6th and 7th grades meet on the second floor of the Family Life Center in “The Verge.” Students in grades 8 through 12 meet on the third floor of the Preschool-Children-Youth Building in the “Upper Room.”
What if I want to join?
You will always have the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior and Lord at the end of each worship service. If you already have a personal relationship with Jesus and are looking for a church home, we will rejoice in your decision to join with us in following the risen Savior.
